AYR WOMAN JAILED FOR THREATENING EX WITH VILE MESSAGES AFTER HOUSE FIRE
Jamie Bloy, a 36-year-old woman from Dalmilling Crescent in Ayr, admitted behaving in a threatening manner via the messaging service WhatsApp.
The incident occurred at Fenwickland Avenue, Ayr, in January.
The court was told that Bloy and her ex-partner had an on-off relationship for two years, which ended in November 2016.
In January, her ex-partner noticed his mother's front door was on fire, prompting emergency services to attend.
He had unblocked Bloy on WhatsApp that day, and noticed her status saying "I hope your mother croaks it." The police confirmed that Bloy admitted to sending the message, claiming it was a joke and unrelated to the fire incident.
During the court hearing, her defense solicitor stated that she has had no contact with the accused since and regrets her behavior.
Bloy plans to move to Oxford to reside with her new partner and was not considered suitable for a deferred sentence.
Sheriff Mhari Mactaggart stated she would not defer sentencing, and Bloy will complete 70 hours of unpaid work in Oxford under a community payback order.
