JAMES YATES – BIRMINGHAM MAN FACES COURT OVER CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Child Online Safety Team UK Operation: A Birmingham man, James Yates, is set to appear in court later this month following a police investigation into online child sexual offences.
Following an investigation by West Midlands Police, Yates was charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child.
However, a forensic download of his electronic devices uncovered indecent images of children, leading to additional charges being brought against him.
Yates is scheduled to appear before Dudley Magistrates’ Court on 20 October 2025, where he will face the charges in connection with both the communication and the possession of illegal material.
The offences were initially uncovered during an online child protection operation, and police have confirmed that further evidence has been seized as part of the ongoing case.
