PERVERT CONVICTED AFTER 34 YEARS
A PERVERT faces jail after being convicted of abusing two primary school girls more than 30 years ago.James Wilson, 53, abused the girls after giving them lifts home on his motorbike between 1969 and 1973.
During his trial one of the girls, now aged 41, said in evidence she had been so distressed it took years before she could tell her partner after they had sexual difficulties.
The other girl, now 43, said: "He sexually abused me in the house and on the back of his motorbike.
I have tried to put the whole thing behind me." At Airdrie Sheriff Court a jury took less than an hour to convict Wilson, of Crum Crescent, Stirling, of indecent behaviour against the two young girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Wilson, who has been married for 32 years, was released on bail and will be sentenced next month, after Sheriff Petra Collins called for background reports.
The sheriff told him: "These are very serious charges and a custodial sentence is very much at the forefront of my mind." Wilson was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.
