JAMES TREVOR REYNOLDS
At Bristol Crown Court on 30 October 2025, James Trevor Reynolds pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation.
The court heard that the offences were committed against a male victim, who has since been granted the protection of a restraining order.
Reynolds was sentenced to an 18-month prison term, suspended for 18 months, meaning he will avoid immediate custody provided he complies with strict court requirements.
He was also made subject to a 12-month Community Order.
As part of the sentence, Reynolds must complete rehabilitation activities, attend an accredited programme, abstain from alcohol for 120 days under monitoring, and remain under Probation Service supervision.
The court imposed a restraining order prohibiting Reynolds from contacting the victim directly or indirectly.
He is also banned from attending specified locations in Worcester connected to the victim.
The order will remain in force until October 2030.
Reynolds was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187 and prosecution costs of £350.
Should he breach any of the conditions imposed by the court, he could be brought back before a judge and ordered to serve all or part of the suspended 18-month prison sentence.
The case has now concluded, although the sentence could still be challenged through the appeal process.
