JAMES SHARROCK SENTENCED IN WINCHESTER FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES

James Sharrock, 55, was given a community order in 2011 after being convicted of possessing indecent images of children.

Winchester Crown Court was told that Surrey Police, the Met Police, and Hampshire Constabulary had been investigating Sharrock when officers visited his residence in Spicers Court on July 24 of the previous year.

Prosecutor Kerry Maylin revealed that authorities discovered 4,333 images across several of Sharrock's devices.

Of these, 2,069 were classified as category A, indicating the most serious type of child abuse images.

PC Kristin McMahon, involved in the case, described these images as “some of the worst images of child abuse I’ve seen,” adding that they were “sadistic,” depicting children who were “tied up, degraded, and suffering physical as well as sexual abuse.” Additionally, some images featured children who were drugged, with victims ranging in age from as young as two months up to 12 years old.

Sharrock had previously admitted to three counts of making indecent images of children, three counts of distributing such images, possessing nine prohibited images, and 638 extreme pornographic images.

He was sentenced to two years in prison and is required to sign the sex offender register for 10 years.
