RADIOGRAPHER STRUCK OFF AFTER COMMUNICATING WITH WHAT HE THOUGHT TO BE A 14 YEAR OLD BOY
Jurado held a two-year work visa for the UK and was employed as a Radiographer at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.Between October 11, 2022, and December 20, 2022, he attempted to communicate with a potential sexual partner through an online platform.
He ended up engaging with a man claiming to be 14 years old, who was actually a decoy operated by a group called ‘London Overwatch and Innocent Voices’.
The organizers had made the age of the decoy clear from the start.
Initially communicating via an app and later through WhatsApp, Jurado expressed a desire to meet the individual, indicating intent for sexual activity.
The encounter was arranged as part of a live sting broadcast on Facebook.
On January 5, 2023, police informed the HCPC about Jurado’s arrest.
He was subsequently charged with specific offences, including that between October 11, 2022, and December 20, 2022, in Winchester, he, being over 18, intentionally communicated with a person under 16—whom he believed to be 16 or older—for sexual purposes.
The allegations involved sending a topless photo, asking if they wanted to kiss a man, and repeatedly inviting the individual to his home for sex.
Jurado pleaded not guilty in court and was scheduled for trial on January 10, 2024.
However, on the day of the trial, his legal representatives sought a sentence indication from the judge, leading him to change his plea to guilty.
The case was then adjourned for sentencing.
On February 23, 2024, Jurado appeared before Winchester Crown Court, where Mr.
Recorder Crook-North sentenced him.
The court handed down a community order for 24 months, which included 150 hours of unpaid work, a 60-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, and attendance at a sex offender programme.
Additionally, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was imposed for five years, with conditions requiring Jurado to notify authorities of certain information.
Any breach of this order could result in imprisonment for up to five years.
