HOTEL WORKER JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT ON FEMALE COLLEAGUE IN INVERNESS
A hotel worker named James McDade was involved in a violent assault on a female colleague during a shift change at the Chieftain Hotel in Inverness.The incident occurred on May 23 of the current year and was captured on CCTV footage.
According to court reports, McDade approached the woman, who was seated behind the reception desk, after a discussion that had turned negative.
The fiscal depute Shay Treanor detailed that McDade then punched the woman in the head, dragged her to the ground, and pulled her around by her hair before kicking her multiple times.
Following the assault, McDade left the scene.
The woman sustained cuts and bruising, with injuries including an injury to her eye.
Police reviewed CCTV footage, leading to McDade's arrest, caution, and charges.
He admitted to assaulting his female colleague in Inverness Sheriff Court.
The court is set to review CCTV evidence again in the upcoming hearing scheduled for September, with mitigation from McDade's defence lawyer expected.
The sheriff prosecutor, Sheriff Robert Frazer, mentioned that McDade was in a difficult position during the proceedings.
McDade resides on Upper Kessock Street, Inverness.
