JAMES LANCASHIRE FROM WEST BRIDGFORD JAILED FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER

In April 2019, a man identified as James Lancashire, who has no fixed address and hails from West Bridgford, was sentenced to a 28-day jail term after he was found guilty of violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The order, which was issued on March 11, 2019, was set to last for five years and was designed to restrict Lancashire’s interactions with minors.

According to the terms of the order, Lancashire was prohibited from having any contact with girls under the age of 18 unless explicit consent was obtained from the child's parent or guardian, as well as approval from social services.

This legal restriction was put in place to protect minors from potential harm and to prevent any inappropriate contact or behavior.

Despite these clear restrictions, Lancashire was arrested on April 2, 2019, after allegedly failing to adhere to the conditions of the order.

The following day, he was formally charged with two offenses: one for breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order and another for failing to comply with notification requirements, which are typically part of monitoring and safeguarding procedures for individuals with such orders.

He was brought before Mansfield Remand Court on the same day of his arrest, where the court proceedings confirmed his violation of the court-mandated restrictions.

The judge subsequently sentenced him to a 28-day period of detention, emphasizing the importance of enforcing such orders to ensure the safety of minors and uphold the integrity of the legal system.
