A man has been sentenced to prison following an assault on a woman at her residence in Warrington.James Kenny, aged 35 and residing on Brick Street in Warrington, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on 16 October.
He pled guilty to charges of assault and criminal damage during a prior hearing, but was acquitted of intentional strangulation.

The incident took place in the early hours of 10 April 2025, when the victim, who was sleeping at her home, woke to find Kenny standing over her.
She had only known him for approximately three weeks.
He accused her of speaking to other men, which she denied.
He left the property with his belongings, and despite her denying this over the phone, he responded with verbal abuse.
Later that morning, around 10:30 am, she heard someone entering through the front door and realized Kenny had used her keys to gain entry, accompanied by a friend.
Kenny continued shouting at her as he attempted to seize her phone.
A struggle ensued, during which he assaulted her multiple times.
He also went into the kitchen, smashing plates and cups and throwing items he took from her cupboards.
