    In June 2014, a disturbing case unfolded involving James Conway, a man from Bury, who was compelled to admit to multiple instances of sexual misconduct following a revelation on social media. The incident came to light when Conway's wife discovered a Facebook message that exposed his past actions, prompting him to come forward and confess to the authorities.

    Conway, aged 42 and residing in Rougham, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court to face charges related to his earlier misconduct. He pleaded guilty to five counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 16, with the offenses spanning from 1996 to 2001. The prosecution, led by Catherine Bradshaw, detailed that Conway had engaged in inappropriate physical contact with the girl on numerous occasions during that period.

    The court heard that Conway's realization of the gravity of his actions was triggered by his wife’s discovery of the Facebook message, which served as a catalyst for his confession. His legal representative, Ian James, emphasized that Conway had become acutely aware of the seriousness of his conduct only after being confronted by his wife, suggesting a moment of remorse and acknowledgment of his wrongdoings.
