INVERNESS MAN CAUGHT WITH SICK IMAGES BREAKS COURT ORDER TO STAY AWAY FROM MINORS
Jake Driver, a 21-year-old man, was involved in serious criminal activity related to child exploitation. He possessed indecent images of young girls aged between 3 and 12 years old, some classified as category A, the most severe form.
Police seized his mobile phone during a search at his residence in Glenshiel after receiving information from the National Child Abuse Investigation Unit.
A forensic examination uncovered 37 inaccessible images depicting child abuse, spanning grades A to C.
Driver admitted to taking, permitting to be taken, or making these indecent images of children.
Furthermore, he had breached a court order that prohibited him from having unsupervised contact with anyone under 17 by being found in the company of a 16-year-old girl.
He also violated bail conditions by failing to cooperate as he was discovered with a minor.
Driver's solicitor acknowledged his previous conviction for similar offences and noted he had not yet begun the court-mandated 'Moving Forward, Making Changes' programme.
He has since started the programme and was reported to be making good progress.
The court deferred sentencing, pending reports, and placed him back on the sex offenders register, with the length of registration to be determined at a later date.
