NANTWICH MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND THREATS WITH A WEAPON
Jacob Rose, aged 31 and from Nantwich, received a four-year prison sentence at Chester Crown Court for serious offences of domestic violence. He was convicted of attacking his former partner, which included attempts to strangle her and threatening her with a weapon.
The incident took place on October 28, 2024, after the victim came home to find Rose intoxicated and trying to get into her bed.
When she declined, he responded violently by shouting at her, insulting her, spitting multiple times, and pushing her against a wall.
He then dragged her onto the bed and applied strangulation for a prolonged period, during which she found it difficult to breathe.
Rose subsequently left the room but returned wielding a kitchen knife, issuing a death threat.
The victim managed to escape and sought assistance, while Rose searched outside her home for her.
Following police intervention, Rose was arrested and charged.
In court proceedings in April, it was revealed that the victim had been in a relationship with Rose for about seven months before they separated.
The lengthy prison sentence underscores the gravity of his conduct and serves to deter similar behaviour.
Investigating Officer Kayleigh Ryan highlighted the victim’s bravery and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to tackling domestic abuse, urging victims to come forward.
Rose is now serving time for his violent actions, which have inflicted enduring trauma on the victim, and his criminal record is permanently marked.
