STOCKTON MAN JACK WINTER JAILED FOR TERRORISING FAMILY AND POLICE TILES THROWING INCIDENT
A young man named Jack Winter from Norton, Stockton, was jailed for his 'outrageous behaviour' after terrorising his family to fuel his drug addiction. The court heard that Winter climbed onto the roof of his father's house and began throwing tiles at police officers when his family refused to give him money.
He was shouting and aggressive when denied drugs and demanded money from his grandmother.
Winter managed to cause significant damage, throwing roof tiles and rocks at police, hitting an officer in the chest, and damaging police vehicles during a stand-off.
After being released under investigation, he returned to his grandmother’s house and again demanded money.
Winter pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment without violence and one charge of affray related to incidents on May 16 and 29.
Judge Timothy Stead sentenced him to eight months in custody, with an additional two months for breaching a suspended sentence, and imposed a five-year restraining order to prevent further harassment of his grandmother.
