2018: JACK ROWLEY JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST HIS 16-YEAR-OLD EX, BANNED FROM THE WESTLANDS

A MAN jailed for threatening his teenage ex-girlfriend, damaging a police van and racially abusing an officer will be banned from the Westlands when he leaves prison.

Jack Rowley, 26, who is currently serving six months in prison after being convicted of a string of offences in May, will not be allowed to enter the Westlands estate or the area around Droitwich High School.

Magistrates granted the criminal behaviour order on Wednesday (July 4) at Worcester Magistrates Court after hearing evidence of Rowley’s antisocial behaviour and offending history - which had largely taken place on the estate.

The order lasts for three years and if breached has a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.

Rowley was jailed for breaching a restraining order put in place to protect his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend and was found guilty of several assaults, criminal damage and racially abusing a police officer.

PC Rich Rees from the Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood team said: “Rowley’s offending and antisocial behaviour has had a massive impact on the local community.

The majority of the residents will be very pleased and relieved to hear that he has been excluded from the area for three years.” Rowley’s earliest possible release date from prison is August 19 and PC Rees has urged the public to report any breach of the order immediately.

He said: “I am aware that people may have concerns about possible repercussions and might not want to get involved.

We need the public to be our eyes and ears and I would like to reassure them that they can report breaches anonymously.

If Rowley is found by police in the exclusion zones then that is enough to prosecute, we will not need people to give statements against him.” Rowley was arrested on May 18 at his 16-year-old ex’s home on the Westlands.

He had initially fled from officers, having spat at his ex and a member of her family, threatened violence, before returning and denting a police van with a rock.

He also assaulted another member of the public who tried to intervene.

Having been arrested, he made racially abusive comments to a police officer.
