AYR MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULT WITH GLASS BOTTLE AND KNIFE TO PARTNER'S NECK
A man identified as Jack Moodie has been accused of serious assault in Ayr.According to reports, Moodie allegedly pushed a woman causing her to fall, then threw a glass bottle at her, which shattered and struck her body.
It is further alleged that he held a broken glass bottle against her neck, seized her head, and pressed his fist into her face.
The most serious allegations state that he then held a knife to her neck and made a thrusting motion with the weapon.
Additionally, Moodie is accused of causing her fear and alarm through shouting, swearing, and making violent threats.
The Crown's indictment indicates that both accusations involved abuse of a partner or ex-partner and were committed while Moodie was out on bail granted at Ayr Sheriff Court on December 31 of the previous year.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges when he appeared from custody on July 16, and his case is set for trial with multiple witnesses and forensic evidence.
Moodie, whose address is listed as HMP Kilmarnock, remains in custody and is scheduled to face the allegations again at a later date.
