TEESSIDE MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE AND THREATS TO SHOOT PARTNER
A violent and domineering individual, Jack Geldart, has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison after a series of violent and abusive actions. The court heard that Geldart, aged 25, who has a lengthy history of violence against women, threatened to shoot his partner after posting a sexual video of her online.
His 16-month relationship with the woman was marked by recurrent custodial sentences due to domestic abuse incidents when he was recalled on licence.
The incident occurred when Geldart flew into a jealous rage after his partner received a Snapchat message while visiting him at his bail hostel in Gateshead.
He kicked her leg, followed her to her hotel, and acted aggressively.
The woman had to contact his probation officer to report his behavior shortly after his release from prison.
Prosecuting lawyer Jenny Haigh stated that Geldart then sent her numerous intimidating messages, including threats to 'scar her for life' and called her a 'fat scruffy get.' The messages escalated when Geldart sent her a picture of a gun and then threatened to 'blow her head off.' The victim was also distressed by Geldart posting a sexual video of her with her face blurred, aiming to humiliate her.
On another occasion, Geldart contacted another ex-partner warning her that he would come for her.
The court found that Geldart had previously been sentenced to four years and nine months for a campaign of terror against another victim.
Geldart pleaded guilty to stalking, sharing a private sexual video, common assault, and breaching a restraining order.
Judge Howard Crowson described Geldart as having an 'appalling record' of violence and domestic abuse, emphasizing that Geldart assaulted his partner out of jealousy and refused to accept their breakup.
He was also ordered to stay away from certain parts of Middlesbrough indefinitely.
Geldart had started addressing his behavior in custody by participating in a Building Better Lives program.
The court emphasized his pattern of violence and domineering conduct, highlighting his extensive criminal record for similar offenses.
