SOUTHAMPTON MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING PROTECTION ORDER AND RAPING A TEENAGER
December 2022: A man aged 20, named Ismail Mahmood, has been found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl in Southampton.
The assault took place after Mahmood offered her a lift home from Southampton city centre on 17 April.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that Mahmood’s conduct violated a Community Protection Notice issued on 3 January, which explicitly forbade him from interacting with females he did not know.
He was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court to serve 10 years in prison, with an additional five years on licence.
Detective Constable Daniel Cooke from Hampshire Constabulary commented, "This dangerous individual is now in custody, preventing him from causing harm to others within our community," highlighting the serious impact on the victim and the police’s commitment to addressing violence against women and girls.
The case has been characterized as targeting a vulnerable teenager, and the sentence reflects the gravity of Mahmood’s criminal behavior.
