PERTH MAN THREATENED WIFE AFTER SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGE
A jealous husband, Ionut Cotea, 38, threatened to "mutilate" his wife after she received a phone message from her boss.Perth Sheriff Court heard that Cotea, of North Methven Street, became angry and jealous when he saw the message on Facebook Messenger.
He threatened his wife, warning that "If I don't hit you tonight, I will hit you tomorrow or the next night," and said he would "beat" her before "mutilating" her.
Cotea admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at a property in Stroma Court, Perth, on August 30, 2024.
Defense lawyer Linda Clark explained that her client had suspicions about a "third party" and was angry when his wife received a series of texts, which she showed to another woman in the room.
She stated that Cotea has moved on significantly since then, has moved out, and the relationship will not be rekindled.
Sheriff William Wood fined him £450.
