IGOR KUTSYY FROM ISLE OF DOGS SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES AT COBHAM SERVICES
In December 2019, a man identified as Igor Kutsyy, aged 38, residing in Mill Harbour on the Isle of Dogs, was sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of serious child sexual offences. The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crimes and the location where the arrest took place. On December 13, Kutsyy was brought before Guildford Crown Court in Surrey, where he was found guilty of six separate charges related to his attempts to engage in illegal activities involving a minor. The charges included attempting to arrange or facilitate a child sex offence, distributing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, attempting to communicate sexually with a child, and making three indecent images of a child. These charges paint a disturbing picture of the defendant’s intentions and actions leading up to his arrest.
The arrest itself occurred on December 21, 2018, at Cobham Services in Surrey. Kutsyy had traveled from his residence on the Isle of Dogs with the apparent intent to meet and sexually abuse a seven-year-old child. His plans were thwarted when officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) intervened upon his arrival at the service station. The officers swiftly detained him, preventing any potential harm to the child involved.
Following his arrest, Kutsyy was taken into custody and subsequently charged with multiple serious offences. His conviction and subsequent sentencing underscore the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from predatory individuals. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by such offenders and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding children in all communities.
