STALKING PROTECTION ORDER FOR FALMOUTH MAN BY TRURO COURT
An application for a stalking protection order against a Falmouth man has been granted by Truro magistrates for five years.Ian Wilson, aged 45, of Meadowbank Road, Falmouth was said to have carried out acts associated with stalking namely attending the victim's place of work, shouting abuse, attending the victim's home address and viewing her online profile.
It was said that he posed a risk associated with stalking to another person and there was reasonable cause to believe the order was necessary to protect another from such a risk.
This was in accordance with section 1 of the Stalking Protection Act 2019.
The Stalking Protection Order was made for five years preventing him from contacting the woman he stalked: directly or indirectly or encouraging or using any other person to contact her on his behalf by any means and of entering Trevethan Road, Falmouth, Cornwall.
The court also directed that Wilson must comply with any restrictions and treatments suggested by Community Mental Health team.
He must also notify the police the details specified in section 9 of the Stalking Protection Act 2019 within three days.
Failure to comply with any term of this order is a criminal offence, which he could be sent to prison for.
