POLLOK MAN STALKED WOMAN IN RIDDRIE BY REPEATEDLY SENDING MESSAGES ON SOCIAL MEDIA
A MAN who stalked a woman and breached a bail order by attempting to contact her could face jail.Ian Stalker kept tabs on Laura Cullan at her home in Glasgow’s Riddrie area between November 2019 and February 2020.
The 32-year-old repeatedly sent Miss Cullan messages on social media and attended uninvited at her home.
Stalker also contacted a mutual friend to get access to Miss Cullan’s new phone number.
He threatened to attend Miss Cullan’s home and commit violence against her, as well as demand pictures of her.
He was snared by police on 27 January this year, but hindered officers by resisting arrest.
Stalker ignored a court bail order not to approach Miss Cullan, as he attempted to contact her two days later.
He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stalking Miss Cullan and failing to comply with the order.
He also admitted hindering or obstructing police officers by resisting arrest.
The court was told that Stalker had lost weight since being remanded on 16 February, and his defence pleaded for bail before sentencing, arguing he would not contact Miss Cullan if released.
However, the sheriff refused and remanded him in custody for background reports, stating that the offences were very serious and that a custodial sentence was likely.
