FIXATED MAN JAILED AFTER SHARING EXPLICIT PHOTO OF WOMAN IN HOLYHEAD
Ian Paul Atkinson, aged 52 from Clwyd Terrace, New Brighton, received a 26-week prison sentence at Caernarfon Magistrates' Court after admitting to charges involving stalking, sharing sexually explicit images without permission, and making threats to distribute such images. The events originated during a night out in Holyhead, where Atkinson agreed to meet the victim at a local pub.
During their time together, he threatened to circulate intimate photographs of her unless she kept purchasing drinks for him.
After she left, he continued his harassing behavior by calling her multiple times, leaving voicemails that contained abusive language, and on one occasion, threatening to set her house on fire.
That same night, Atkinson also sent an explicit image of the woman through social media messaging.
The victim was later granted a restraining order that is valid for five years.
North Wales Police Sergeant Dylan Thomas commended the victim's bravery, underscoring the importance of taking stalking allegations seriously and encouraging those affected to report such incidents and seek appropriate help.
