WHITEHAVEN MAN IAN AFFLECK SENTENCED TO 27 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CUMBRIA
In a significant legal case that has shocked the community of Whitehaven and the wider Cumbria region, Ian Affleck, a 67-year-old resident of Whitehaven, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of multiple serious child sex offences.The conviction follows a comprehensive trial held in December, during which Affleck was found guilty of a total of 19 separate charges related to the abuse of minors.
These charges encompass a range of heinous acts, including attempted rape, several counts of indecent assault, acts of indecency with children, cruelty to minors, and controlling and coercive behaviour.

On March 3rd, during a hearing at Preston Crown Court, the presiding judge delivered a stern sentence to Affleck, ordering him to serve a total of 27 years in prison.
