2016: MAN JAILED AFTER BREAKING EX-PARTNER'S TEETH IN ATTACK
A MAN went into his ex-partner’s home and attacked her in front of her children, breaking several of her teeth, a court heard.Hubert Locke, aged 37, of Wych Road, Droitwich, who appeared in court via a video link from prison, had himself recently been the victim of a serious assault, in which he was injured by two men armed with a baseball attack and a meat cleaver, Worcester Crown Court was told.
The court heard that Locke broke the bathroom door at Shona Yeomans’ Worcester home after she fled to shut herself in with two of her children when he came to the address uninvited to see his son.
He was jailed for a total of 20 months and two weeks, after admitting assaulting Ms Yeomans causing her actual bodily harm, breaching a non-molestation order by visiting the area where she lived and damaging the bathroom door on March 6 this year.
He also admitted assaulting a young girl by beating, damaging a police cell and obstructing a police officer.
Mark Sheward, defending, said Locke had gone to see his son after he had been drinking.
Some time before that he had been the victim of an assault by two men armed with a baseball bat and a meat cleaver, which had caused problems with his vision out of his left eye and led to him drinking more than normal.
Judge Nicolas Cartwright told Locke that he had carried on with the attack at Ms Yeomans’ home despite his sister, Christine, being there and telling him to stop.
Ms Yeomans was at home with three children when Locke came into the living room and kicked her, leading to her going upstairs and locking herself in the bathroom with two of the youngsters.
But he smashed through the door and punched her, breaking her teeth and producing a “good deal” of blood.
Locke then kicked Ms Yeomans as she lay on the floor, said the judge.
One of Ms Yeomans' teeth was knocked out and others were loosened.
She had had some dental treatment and more was still needed.
The judge also said that Locke had staged a “dirty protest” in the police cell, smearing faeces on to the walls.
