PREDATORY BARBER SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON TEEN BOYS
A Wrexham-based predator has been convicted of sexually offensive acts involving two teenage boys in his barber shop.Hristo Georgiev, age 26, made an inappropriate move on a 15-year-old by asking him to close his eyes for hairspray application and then touching him over his clothing inappropriately.
The criminal activity intensified when Georgiev convinced the teen to enter a back room under the pretense of getting change, where he again engaged in sexual misconduct over his clothes.
The young victim then left and reported the incident to the authorities.
In an earlier incident the week before, Georgiev had approached another 15-year-old customer, suggesting they carry out sexual activity in the shop’s bathroom.
He pleaded guilty to three sexual offence charges involving these boys and was sentenced to 27 months in prison at Mold Crown Court.
The judge described Georgiev’s conduct as predatory and pointed out the dangers he posed by acting publicly.
He also emphasized that the attempt was foiled due to the victim's resistance and expressed outrage that children can still go for haircuts without fearing abuse.
Georgiev, who has no fixed address, was sentenced to 24 months for inciting sexual activity and three months for sexual assault, totaling 27 months of imprisonment.
Additionally, he received a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, barring contact with boys under 16.
Prosecutor Joshua Gorst detailed how Georgiev initiated sexually explicit conversations and made unwarranted physical advances toward victims.
The court acknowledged the bravery of those who came forward.
While Georgiev’s representatives claimed he showed remorse, the judge dismissed this and condemned his actions as unacceptable, citing an inability to maintain self-control.
