UXBRIDGE PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER SENTENCED FOR RAPE
Homayon Ahmadi, a 23-year-old private hire driver residing on New Road in Uxbridge, has received a prison sentence of 13 years plus a further seven years on licence after admitting to the rape of a woman in Croydon.He appeared before Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday, 26th January, where he was found guilty of one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Constable Natalie Alchin, who described Ahmadi as a predatory offender and expressed relief that he is now incarcerated to prevent further crimes.
The case involved multiple victims; one woman reported that she was picked up by a taxi on 19th April 2021, during which Ahmadi pulled her over and assaulted her.
Another woman, aged 21, contacted authorities on 25th July 2021, claiming that she and a friend had been picked up by Ahmadi in central London.
During this journey, Ahmadi stopped at an off-license where he bought whisky and offered it to the women, then sexually assaulted them as they attempted to exit his vehicle on Hornsey Street, N7.
Evidence from CCTV footage and mobile phones linked Ahmadi to the offences, and items such as condoms and baby oil found in his car supported this.
Although Ahmadi denied the accusations during police interviews, forensic results and CCTV evidence confirmed his involvement.
The investigation remains open for other potential victims to come forward.
