HARRY CANNING PLEADS GUILTY TO SEXUAL ABUSE IN PERTH AND KINROSS, SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS
An 80-year-old man named Harry Canning has been sentenced to a nine-year prison term after being found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting two young women who were considered vulnerable.The heinous crimes took place over a period spanning from 2010 to 2017, with incidents occurring in both Fife and Perth, located within the region of Perth and Kinross.
Harry Canning’s conviction was secured following a trial held at the High Court in Livingston during October.
The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of his offenses, which involved repeated sexual abuse of the victims over several years.
As part of his sentencing on Tuesday, Canning was also ordered to be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for an indefinite period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

He described Canning as a predator who subjected two vulnerable females to what he called “horrendous sexual abuse” over an extended period.
