WREXHAM MAN FINED FOR DAMAGING PARTNER'S DOOR AFTER DRINKING SPREE
A man named Gwyn Roberts, who has no fixed address, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court after he admitted to damaging a door belonging to Caroline Thomas in Wrexham on August 8 of the previous year.Prosecutor Suzanne Cartwright explained that at the time of the incident, Roberts and the complainant had been living together in Rossett.
The court was informed that on the day of the offence, Ms.
Thomas called police for assistance, reporting that Roberts, who had been drinking, became very abusive.
According to the account, Roberts punched a door in her bedroom, creating a hole in it, and then caused the doorframe to come loose by headbutting it.
Roberts later attended a voluntary police interview where he apologized and accepted responsibility for the damage.
He has four previous convictions for five offences.
The court was told that Roberts and the complainant had been in a relationship for 20 years before the incident, and his lawyer stated that he is of no fixed abode but is supported by his brother who owns a business.
The judge imposed a fine of £200, along with additional costs, a victim surcharge, and compensation.
The court conveyed that there is no suggestion of reconciliation between the two parties.
