WIGAN MAN JAILED FOR MULTIPLE SEX OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
Graham Young, aged 63 and previously living on Hesketh Meadow Lane, has received a prison sentence of 14 and a half years after admitting to 11 sex-related charges, including crimes involving a minor.During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Young approached two young children by establishing friendships with individuals connected to them, using highly sexualized language and innuendos in his interactions.
Young also confessed to possessing videos classified as Category A and B of a child, as well as images categorized as Category A, B, and C.
His offenses extended to encouraging a child to participate in sexual acts and acts of voyeurism.
Detective Stephanie Goss of the Child Protection Unit expressed satisfaction with the sentence, stating, "We are pleased with today’s outcome, which results in the removal of a dangerous sexual predator from our community.
We hope this decision provides the victims with an opportunity to begin healing and to cope with their experiences." She also urged victims or those who suspect abuse to come forward, remarking, "We are dedicated to investigating any reports of sexual abuse and encourage anyone who believes they have been victimized to contact us.
