BEAST CAGED FOR RAPE OF GIRL AGED JUST 11
A MAN is behind bars after he admitted to raping a girl while on holiday in Spain.Harbor attacked the youngster during a lengthy campaign of abuse beginning when she was only six.
Harbor also regularly molested a young boy around the same time, including on a trip to Australia.
The married 51 year-old admitted to a catalogue of charges including rape, indecent assault and having unlawful sex when he appeared at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lord Bracadale revoked bail due to the seriousness of the offences and deferred sentencing until next month for reports.
Harbor, of Asbury Court, Linwood, was also placed on the sex offenders register.
The court heard that both victims regularly visited or stayed overnight at Harbor's then home in Mainshill Gardens, Erskine.
He began abusing the girl in January 1997 by indecently assaulting her.
He also attacked her in her own home during a time when she was unwell.
Michael Meehan, prosecuting, said Harbor often gave her money, but that the youngster was 'scared'.
In August 2002, the girl was on holiday in Alicante in Spain with her family.
Harbor was also there with his partner and family.
It was there that he raped her although the girl, by then aged 11, did not understand what was going on.
A year later, the girl went on a bicycle run with Harbor although she believed other children were going.
Harbor took her to a house that he was renovating in Portressie, Erskine and had sex with her.
The court heard that she later sent him a text message which read: 'I don"t want to do this any more.' The victim did not tell her mother until August last year and the allegations were reported to police.
Harbor, then a logistics co-ordinator with Hewlett Packard in Bishopton, initially admitted to some of the abuse, but claimed on one occasion it had been at the girl"s 'suggestion'.
He later tried to escape justice by taking a drugs overdose and was admitted to hospital, but later released.
It then emerged that Harbor had also been abusing a boy between May 1995 and June 2001 at the pervert"s home starting when he was six.
Harbor also attacked the child when he joined the youngster"s family on holiday to Australia.
The accused tried to buy the boy"s silence by giving him presents, such as football tops.
The victim told police last year what had gone on.
Harbor later wrote him a letter expressing regret, but did not say what he had done.
The court heard that Harbor was now out-of-work, living in a rented flat and on anti-depressants.
