GLASGOW MAN JAILED AFTER STANDING ON PARTNER'S HEAD IN ERSKINE HOME
A Glasgow brute has been caged after a horrific attack on his partner, which involved him throwing her to the floor, standing on her head and pouring cans of cider over her.Bullying Mark Scott admitted he attacked his partner of seven years at her Erskine home in July 2024.
The 37-year-old thug assaulted the woman and made threats to burn down the house.
The woman tried to flee from the home, but Scott, of Whitacres Path in South Nitshill, grabbed her back inside and repeatedly punched her all over her body.
She was left "screaming for help" but sadly nobody heard her.
Procurator fiscal depute Jason Stark described how, on July 25, 2024, the accused and the woman were drinking alcohol.
Around 3am on July 26, they were lying on the couch, where the woman was trying to sleep but the accused repeatedly spoke to her.
The woman got up off the couch, but Scott grabbed her, threw her back onto the couch and poured cans of cider over her, striking her on the head with an empty can.
He then threw her onto the floor and stood on her face.
The court heard the woman was crying and begging him to stop, but he did not listen and went into the kitchen.
Scott returned "appearing remorseful," but when she told him she didn't want to talk to him, he "switched" and "started going mental" again, smashing the cooker and pulling out drawers.
He threw her to the ground again, making threats to burn the house and setting fire to pieces of paper.
The woman managed to open the front door and scream for help, but Scott pulled her back inside.
When she again managed to escape, he tried to pull her back in, punched and kicked her repeatedly.
Police found Scott intoxicated, slurring, and unsteady, and he became hostile and aggressive with officers, trying to punch and bite them.
Scott's defense claimed he has "shown remorse" and cited the recent death of his father and alleged tensions involving his mental health.
The court sentenced him to two-and-a-half years in prison, banned him from driving for nine months, and issued a seven-year non-harassment order preventing contact with his ex-partner.
