SNOOKER CHAMPION GRAEME DOTT CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Former World Snooker Champion Graeme Dott has been charged with child sex offences.Allegedly, he sexually abused two children on multiple occasions over a 17-year period, from 1993 to 2010.
The accusations include inappropriate touching, instructing a girl to remove her clothes, and exposing himself.
Additionally, he is accused of making sexual remarks to a boy, watching him shower, and abusing him.
Both children were of primary school age during the incidents, which allegedly occurred on various occasions.
Dott, a notable snooker player who won the world title in 2006, denies the charges and has refused to appear in court today.
He remains on bail awaiting trial, with a trial scheduled for August 17, 2026, at Glasgow.
The WPBSA has suspended him due to the ongoing case, stating that further comments would be inappropriate during the proceedings.
Dott's previous public appearances included a court hearing in April, and he made his first appearance in the dock in April as prosecutors reviewed his bail conditions.
He has not been convicted and continues to deny the allegations.
Dott's snooker career includes a World Championship title in 2006, along with two other finals appearances in 2004 and 2010, and he has previously lost finals to Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson.
Despite his achievements, he was blocked from competing in the World Snooker Championship earlier this year following his charge.
