MAN CONVICTED OF SEVERE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THREATS IN NORTH WALES
A man who physically and mentally abused three women over an 11-month period has been sent to prison for more than two years.Gordon Duncan, of Leighton Court, Connah's Quay, Flintshire, sent indecent images of one, threatened to murder two of them, and hit one so hard he perforated her eardrum.
He also spat at her and threatened to murder her before stealing her phone.
Duncan then began acting "hostile" towards Miss Meredith, her friends, and family, pushing her face into their bed and scratching her eye.
When she tried to escape, Duncan chased her, grabbed her by the neck, and smashed her phone in front of her nine-year-old brother and a neighbor.
Between February 2020 and December 2020, Duncan had two relationships with Danielle Hinton and Niomi Meredith, having ended his previous relationship in August 2019.
He attacked Miss Hinton, damaged her car, and accused her of cheating.
Duncan also distributed intimate images of an ex-girlfriend and threatened to share additional photos.
He also entered into a relationship with Miss Meredith in March 2020, moving into her property.
Duncan's behavior included verbal abuse, punching, threatening with a knife, and other violent acts.
He sought to terrify her with threats to "slit her throat" and even threatened to petrol-bomb her house.
She was left considering taking her own life.
The third victim also underwent counseling.
Duncan has two previous convictions for attacks on former girlfriends.
During sentencing, his representation acknowledged his difficult upbringing, witnessing his father abusing his mother, and noted some positive change in his mindset.
Duncan was sentenced to four months for assault on Miss Hinton, eight months for disclosing private photos, and additional sentences for other offences, with a total over two years in prison.
