BIRMINGHAM MAN ADMITS GBH AFTER PUNCHING PARTNER IN THE FACE
A man who struck his former partner in the face has acknowledged causing serious physical injury.Giannie Ebanks, aged 22, submitted a plea stating that his partner had first assaulted him and that his response was acts of disproportionate self-defence.
The incident took place while they were in a vehicle in Bicester on December 1, 2019.
Prosecutor Richard Paton-Philip requested a period of seven days for the Crown Prosecution Service to determine if the plea was appropriate.
During a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon, Ebanks, residing on Walford Road in Birmingham, admitted to causing grievous bodily harm.
Presiding judge Maria Lamb released him on bail with a return date set for September 1.
