CRIEFF MAN FACES JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC DOMESTIC ABUSE RECORDED BY POLICE
A man named George Trueland, aged 47 and residing on McOwan Avenue in Crieff, was involved in a severe domestic abuse incident where he subjected his partner to a terrifying sustained attack.During the incident, Trueland rained blows on his victim, which included hitting her multiple times on the body while shouting, swearing, and uttering racist remarks.
The attack began on the street after he accused her of being unfaithful, pushing her from behind causing her to fall, then punching her in the front, prompting her to run away and scream as Trueland chased her.
After walking off, he managed to get ahead of her at her home, where he pushed her onto a mattress and punched her three times.
Remarkably, the police recorded a 25-minute phone call where she was on the line reporting the attack; Trueland was unaware police were listening.
The call captured him being aggressive and her crying out in pain and fear.
When police arrived, they found her distressed, with fresh injuries on her and older wounds.
Trueland initially denied assaulting her but admitted to the abuse after hearing the police recording.
The sheriff indicated that, based on the evidence and the narrative, Trueland almost certainly faced a prison sentence, and he was remanded in custody for further reports to be prepared.
