MAN GIVEN18 YEARS SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR SERIOUS SEXUAL OFFENCES IN PERTHSHIRE
A man convicted of multiple violent sexual assaults has been warned that he faces a lengthy prison sentence for his series of crimes involving two young women.Caileon Ward subjected his victims to severe trauma over a four-year period from 2019 to 2023 at various locations in Crieff.
The 26-year-old repeatedly targeted the first woman while she was asleep, and after she rejected his sexual advances, he assaulted her again while under the influence of cocaine.
During a confrontation, Ward told her he no longer cared about her pleas, then restrained her and forcefully raped her.
Prosecutor Greg Farrell described her as visibly distressed, crying out in pain.
In another incident, Ward threatened her with a knife, told her to remove her clothes, insulted her, and after she managed to escape wearing only a T-shirt and underwear, he was seen laughing.
The second victim endured a similar assault, leaving her feeling dehumanized.
On New Year’s Day 2023, Ward drove while intoxicated and on drugs with her in the vehicle, threatening to drive over a bridge with both of them inside.
He later carried a knife along her legs in a menacing display.
Ward admitted to six charges, including the repeated rape of both women.
The judge, Lord Scott, postponed sentencing to the following month and warned Ward that he would face a very long prison term.
