DRUNK EX-HUSBAND TRIES TO BREAK INTO EX-WIFE’S HOME CLAIMING HE MISSED HIS KIDS
A drunk father named George Thomson entered his ex-wife’s back garden and attempted to break into her home.During the incident, he claimed, “I was just missing my kids” as he explained his behavior in court.
Thomson caused considerable distress to his ex-wife by appearing at her window while she was washing dishes, frightening her into fleeing upstairs.
He then tried to open the back door and later the front door of her house, banging on both doors in a heavily intoxicated state.
The police were called by his ex-wife as she was in a state of fear.
Responding officers found Thomson heavily intoxicated in the rear garden of the property.
Thomson, who was representing himself in court, admitted to the charge of threatening or abusing behavior with a domestic aggravation.
At an earlier hearing, it was revealed that the woman saw her ex-husband in her garden and was frightened enough to leave her home.
Sheriff Robert Frazer deferred sentencing for 12 months, giving Thomson the opportunity to prove he could behave himself, while warning him against any future harassment of his ex-wife.
The court also continued to consider a motion for a non-harassment order effective until November of the following year.
The incident took place on July 22 this year, and Thomson explained his actions by saying, “We have been separated for seven years and this is the first time it has happened.
I got drunk and went to the door.” The court emphasized the importance of avoiding any form of contact or bother to the woman in future proceedings.
