A MAN PUT HIS FIST THROUGH THE BACK WINDSCREEN OF HIS PARTNER’S CAR IN A TIT-FOR-TAT ATTACK WHEN SHE SCRATCHED HIS VEHICLE.
A man damaged his partner’s car by smashing its rear windscreen in a retaliatory act after she scratched his vehicle.George Newman caused approximately £250 worth of damage to a Volkswagen Tiguan, which his legal representative described as a moment of poor judgment.
The 28-year-old subsequently agreed to cover the costs of repairing the damaged windscreen.
Perth Sheriff Court was informed that on August 1, the couple was involved in an argument at their residence in the city.
Prosecutor Lissie Cooke explained that Newman’s partner left the house and entered her car.
“Newman then exited the house and approached the back of the vehicle, striking the windscreen with his fist.
This resulted in broken glass falling onto the ground and inside the car’s interior,” she said.
When police arrived, they found Newman with a bleeding hand.
He was detained and taken to Perth Royal Infirmary.
Defence solicitor Lyndsey Barber stated that Newman’s partner had been the initial aggressor by scratching his car.
