WREXHAM MAN GEORGE ISAAC SENTENCED FOR CHILD IMAGE OFFENSES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Wrexham, a local man named George Isaac, aged 62, has admitted to possessing and creating indecent images involving children as young as one year old.The case was heard at Mold Crown Court, where Isaac, a resident of Y Wern, Caia Park, Wrexham, faced multiple serious charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal images.
According to court records, Isaac pleaded guilty to a total of ten charges of making indecent images of children by downloading them from the internet.
The images in question included a staggering 1,678 photographs, some of which depicted extreme sexual acts involving humans and animals.
Additionally, he admitted to possessing prohibited cartoon images that depicted children and adults engaged in sexual intercourse, further highlighting the disturbing nature of his offenses.
The court heard that these illicit activities took place over a period spanning from December 2011 to June 2013.
Judge Philip Hughes described the severity of the case, emphasizing that some of the children depicted in the images were as young as one year old.
The judge characterized the case as particularly heinous, stating, “This is a bad case.” Despite the gravity of the crimes, Isaac was spared immediate imprisonment.
Instead, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for 18 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses within that period.
As part of his sentence, Isaac was also ordered to participate in a 35-session internet sex offender treatment program administered by the probation service.
Furthermore, he was placed under a 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPA), which restricts his activities and requires him to register as a sex offender with the police for a decade.
Judge Hughes acknowledged that Isaac was a man of good character prior to these offenses, with no previous criminal record of this nature.
The court also took into account his health issues and the fact that he had cooperated fully with authorities, including expressing remorse and shame for his actions.
The judge noted that Isaac’s guilty pleas were given full credit during sentencing.
Prosecutor Richard Edwards revealed that police executed a search warrant at Isaac’s residence during the investigation.
During the search, Isaac admitted to viewing the images but claimed he had not stored them.
Internet search terms linked to his activity included phrases such as “pre-teen young,” “pre-teen models,” and “child models,” indicating the disturbing nature of his online searches.
Defense counsel Ceri Evans described Isaac as a hardworking, law-abiding family man who had fallen into viewing adult pornography, which eventually escalated to the illegal and shocking images that the court had reviewed.
Isaac has been single since separating from his wife two decades ago and is supported by his four adult children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Evans emphasized that Isaac had been open with the probation service about his problems and expressed genuine regret and shame for his actions.
She argued that Isaac was not in denial and that he was someone the probation service could work with to address his issues.
The case has left a lasting impact on the community of Wrexham, raising concerns about online safety and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
The court’s decision reflects the seriousness with which such offenses are regarded, while also considering the defendant’s personal circumstances and willingness to cooperate.
