GEORGE BREED OF GILLINGHAM SENTENCED FOR DECADES OF CHILD ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE COURT
In a case that has shocked the community of Gillingham and the surrounding areas, an 80-year-old man named Geoffrey Breed has been sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of child molestation.
The offences, which spanned over four decades from 1956 to 2000, involved the abuse of five young girls and were brought to light during a trial at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.
Breed, a retired teacher and Baptist minister residing on Cleave Road in Gillingham, faced a total of 21 charges of indecent assault.
After a thorough trial, the jury convicted him of 18 of these charges while acquitting him of three.
Despite his legal team’s plea for a suspended sentence, the judge, Anthony Balston, made it clear that Breed would have to serve time in prison, stating that he must go
