GAVIN SANGSTER'S SHOCKING THREATS IN PERTH: SCOTTISH BUFFALO TRAINER'S ABUSIVE RANT

On a night marked by heavy alcohol consumption, Gavin Sangster, a Scottish buffalo trainer based in Perth, engaged in a disturbing episode of threatening and abusive behavior directed at his wife, Erlinda. The incident unfolded with Sangster making alarming statements about her obedience, asserting that she needed further training, and claiming that in Asia, men are in charge. His words reflected a disturbing attitude towards his wife, as he threatened to physically assault her and even to use a rope to drag her behind his vehicle.

Specifically, Sangster declared, "When she comes back I’m going to tie a rope around her neck and drag her through the streets of Perth with my car. She’s a f****** dog and needs to be trained. When she turns up I’m going to give her a f****** kicking." These threats were overheard by police officers who were present at the scene. Sangster, aged 38, later admitted to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on January 18. Despite his claims that his comments were related to his work with water buffaloes in Bali, the police and court considered the incident serious.

Fortunately, the court was informed that Erlinda was found safe and well following the incident, and that the couple had since reconciled. It was also revealed that Sangster spends part of each year in Bali and the Philippines, training buffalo, and that there is no prior record of domestic violence or similar incidents involving him. His legal representative highlighted that Sangster’s frequent absences are due to his work with buffalo training abroad.

The court decided to defer sentencing until next month to allow for further reports to be prepared. However, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis expressed significant concern regarding Sangster’s threatening comments, emphasizing the seriousness of the behavior and the potential risks involved.
