MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING A GIRL FROM THE AGE OF 11
Gary Wilson, who was in his late 30s at the time, sexually abused a girl over a span of five years.
The victim, now approaching her late 20s, concealed the abuse until her early twenties, at which point she confided in her parents.
Subsequently, she reported the incident to law enforcement.
Wilson, residing in Hill Close, Turnditch, Belper, was arrested after police found him in possession of indecent images and extreme pornography that were not related to his known victim.
The 56-year-old man admitted to three counts of producing indecent images and one count of possessing extreme pornography.
He also faced five charges of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, two counts of sexual assault against a minor, two counts of inciting a minor into sexual activity, and two counts of taking indecent images of a minor—all pertaining to the girl involved in the case.
Wilson denied these allegations, and his trial took place in October.
On the 27th of that month, a jury convicted him on all 11 charges.
At a sentencing hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on December 15, the judge sentenced him to seven years in prison and issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
