SEWERMAN GARY THOMSON FROM FULHAM SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS IN JAIL FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING TEENAGE BOYS IN GREENWICH

In January 2000, Gary Thomson, a 39-year-old sewer worker from Fulham, was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting teenage boys. Thomson, who is a father of two, admitted to two counts of rape, indecent assault, and four counts of indecency with a child, relating to six boys aged between 10 and 16 from the Greenwich area.

The Old Bailey heard that between March 1997 and May 2002, Thomson exploited the boys' trust and asked them to pose naked for photographs. Judge Ann Goddard QC addressed Thomson during the sentencing, saying, "Your pleas are important because they give rise to at least some hope you will not offend again and more importantly that these boys know you have publicly acknowledged what you did to them."
