A man who committed multiple public indecency incidents in West Lothian has now been listed on the sex offenders’ register following his conviction.
The 26-year-old, Gary Stewart, engaged in three daylight attacks during which he exposed himself to four women.
During one incident, he stepped in front of a 19-year-old woman and lifted his T-shirt to reveal his genitals.
Witnesses later reported that they believed he was engaging in a sex act during one of the bizarre events.
Initially, Stewart denied exposing himself, claiming he was wearing swimming trunks as he had been jogging, and that witnesses had confused urination for lewd conduct.
However, he pleaded guilty last week at Livingston Sheriff Court to three counts of public indecency, resulting in his placement on the sex offenders’ register.
He also had two other similar charges and a sexual assault allegation for which his pleas of not guilty were accepted, and his sentencing is due to take place at a later date.
