SHOCKING SEX OFFENDER GARY PIGGOTT OF EVESHAM SENTENCED FOR ABUSING 12-YEAR-OLD BOY
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Evesham, Gary Piggott, aged 39, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous sexual assaults involving a young boy.The incidents took place in the early hours of a morning in Evesham, where Piggott, a resident of Lupin Walk, was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual misconduct against a 12-year-old boy, who cannot be publicly identified to protect his privacy.
Following a trial at Worcester Crown Court, a jury deliberated and reached a verdict of guilty on all six counts against Piggott, with a majority of 10-2.
The charges included two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration, which occurred on May 30, 2020, as well as three additional charges of sexual assault against the same victim on the same date.
Furthermore, Piggott was convicted of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, all of which took place within the confines of Evesham.
The court heard harrowing details from the victim, who recounted how Piggott entered his bedroom, initially greeting him with a casual 'hi' and apologizing for waking him.
The boy described how Piggott left the room but repeatedly returned, climbing into his bed and carrying out the assaults.
During police interviews, the young victim explained that Piggott had touched him inappropriately and performed a sexual act upon him.
He also revealed that Piggott had tried to turn him over during the assault, and he was attempting to pretend to be asleep to avoid further harm.
