CROSSGATES MAN ADMITS ASSAULTING PARTNER IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE
A man named Gary Foy, aged 38, from Dunearn Drive, Kirkcaldy, appeared in Dunfermline Sheriff Court to admit assaulting his then partner. The incident took place on August 7 last year at Hillview Place, Crossgates.
Foy was accused of physically assaulting his partner by punching her repeatedly on the body and then kicking her on the leg.
Court reports indicate that during an argument, he made a derogatory comment about her being a “slut”.
The woman, who had recently undergone an operation, was punched in the lower abdomen, which caused her pain, and was kicked in the leg.
She was later taken to hospital, but it was found she had no significant injuries.
Defense solicitor Ian Beatson acknowledged that Foy had consumed excessive alcohol and expressed his regret for his actions.
The sheriff, David Hall, sentenced him to a community payback order involving 90 hours of unpaid work and one year of supervision.
The court emphasized that Foy's behavior was the reason their relationship ended, and he would have to live with that realization.
