CONVICTED STALKER TOOK KNIFE TO HIS VICTIM'S HOME AND THREATENED TO KILL HER NEW PARTNER
Helen Haldane called police on her former husband Francis Haldane after she became concerned he was carrying a blade.They found him with a kitchen knife in his jacket pocket.
When taken in for interview, he told officers: "I was going to jump on the train to Glasgow and stab the guy Helen is seeing - I want to kill him." Haldane, 40, a prisoner at HMP Perth, pleaded guilty on indictment to charges of carrying an offensive weapon and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm.
The offence took place on June 15 this year at addresses in Queen Street and Glenesk Place Arbroath, and at Arbroath Police Office.
He was volatile and agitated, raising his voice frequently, and his presentation was described as very alarming.
The sheriff deferred sentencing until next month for social work reports, and Haldane was remanded in custody meantime.
