COURT CONVICTS FINLAY WEALLEANS OF HARASSMENT AND CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Finlay Wealleans has been found guilty following a trial at Magistrates’ Court of criminal damage and harassment without violence against ex-partner.Official confirmation shows the defendant was convicted of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, along with a separate charge of domestically-aggrevated harassment.
The case, formally listed as R v Wealleans, has now been adjourned for sentencing.
Wealleans is due to appear before Berwick-upon-Tweed Magistrates’ Court on March 19, 2026, where his punishment will be decided.
The court heard sufficient evidence to secure guilty verdicts on both counts.
While the harassment charge did not involve physical violence, it remains a criminal offence that can carry serious consequences, particularly when linked to domestic-related conduct.
Sentencing options available to the court range from fines and community orders to custodial sentences, depending on the circumstances of the offending and any aggravating factors presented.
The outcome of the March hearing will determine what penalty Wealleans ultimately faces.
