EZRA KENNY SENTENCED TO OVER 18 YEARS FOR RAPE AND ASSAULT NEAR PRESTON
Ezra Kenny, a 34-year-old man from Preston, has been handed a severe prison sentence totaling more than 18 years following a brutal assault and rape incident that took place in April 2023.The court proceedings revealed that Kenny not only committed these heinous acts but also recorded the crime on his mobile phone, adding a disturbing layer to the case.
During the hearing at Preston Crown Court, Kenny pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including rape, intentional strangulation, and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The court was informed of the gravity of his actions and the evidence presented, which painted a picture of a dangerous individual who posed a significant threat to public safety.
The judge sentenced Kenny to a total of 18 years and seven months in prison.
Of this, he will serve 13 years and seven months behind bars, with an additional five-year license period once released.

Additionally, an indefinite restraining order was issued to prevent any contact between Kenny and his victim, ensuring her ongoing safety and peace of mind.
Detective Inspector Marcus Latham publicly commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward and reporting the assault.
He described Ezra Kenny as a dangerous offender and expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, emphasizing that the lengthy sentence was a responsible and necessary response to his actions.
Inspector Latham also conveyed hope that the victim would find some solace in knowing that Kenny would be detained for many years, effectively removing him from the community.
