Emmanuel Atugo of Southorn Court, Leamington, committed the offenses between June and November of last year. On June 27, he sexually assaulted a woman in his car on Bath Place shortly after meeting her. On August 1, he assaulted another woman, someone he knew casually, at her residence in Leamington. While out on bail for these two incidents, Atugo assaulted a third woman he knew at his home on November 17. Following his arrest, he was charged and held in custody.
On May 29, after a trial at Warwick Crown Court, a jury found Atugo guilty of five counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual assault by penetration. He received his sentence on Tuesday, July 8, at Warwick Crown Court, which included 11 years in prison, four years on license upon release, and lifetime registration on the Sex Offenders Register.
